Playing Catch up

Hold on to your seats folks cause I am about to dump a lot of 'stuff' on ya.

As it may be a shock to some, I have began training for a run. Not a 5K in particular. I just want the peace of mind knowing if I was on an episode of real life Criminal Minds I would come out on the good end! In the beginning I could not run 30 seconds without collapsing and now I'm up to 3 minutes. {Tonight is 6 minutes. Yikes!} But my neighborhood has the perfect running 'track'. It is almost a mile from our neighborhood sign to our house with three mountains in between. But it is very convenient. It's kinda perfect.

One great thing about my job is that I have access to awesome web things {I don't know its real name} So I have been asked to make invitations for showers and parties etc. I love it! This one is for a college girls fellowship on thursday! So fun! They consume my days...

Jonathan had been in Guatemala last week for a planning trip. He returned with lots of goodies :)

Fridays are the BEST! Since Jonathan, Seth and I all work at church, we get fridays off. It's so nice having somewhat of a three day weekend every week. Besides the fact that we "work" on Sundays. We all ate lunch at Pizza Shack {my first time} and it was delicious! I was feeling a change and ordered a supreme.. that is so out of my character but it was fan-tastic! and still treating me good 4 days later. Leftovers.

The Price's trying to find the hidden coffee mug. They're so cute!

Hayes just hanging out. Eating a plate.

Me and my man.

For dinner we invited about 6 of our neighbors over to meet and hang out. Only two came, plus our honorary neighbors {Seth and Amanda}. They hung out for 2 1/2 hours and I think it was a total God thing that just those specific people came. We were all about the same age and it was just so much fun! They wanted to do it again and wanted to do a house rotation. cool. This is one of Jonathan's favorite dips and I give out the recipe every time I take it some where. So I'll share it with you. Super easy and yummy!

Wheat thin dip

a thing of cream cheese
a thing of sour cream
a bag of shredded cheddar cheese
a packet of onion soup mix
a small bag of real bacon bits

mix. preheat oven to 400'. bake for 25-30 minutes. done.

Saturday, I rode with some girls to Memphis, since Jonathan was going to be there Sunday afternoon for his Ordination service at Faith Baptist. I got to my parents house to find an animal shelter. This dog is a handful. They were dog sitting my brothers dog for the weekend. Elvis.

Orlando.

My parents took me to eat at Joe's Crab Shack and my mom and I split the crawfish bucket. I just can't get enough of it.

It would never be a true Memphis trip without a Howard's run.

Confession time:
This is a chair cover that my parent's kept from my old room. Cats everywhere. On my pillows, on the curtains, on the bedspread, in picture frames, and don't forget the border that wrapped all the around my room. All Cats.
Meow.

I had to stay on track with my couch to 5K so off I went. This is a view of my parent's house from my jog.

Sunday night was such a sweet time as Jonathan was Ordained into the Gospel Ministry. We had all the family there and afterwards we all celebrated at Firebirds. And this is the ONLY picture I took. Tiff made front page!

Last week I was cooking and dropped a whole can of turkey grease on my kitchen rug. Small's has since then, eaten a hole in the rug trying to get all the grease up! So mad!

Last but not least

Our guest bedroom is finally almost* finished. Seth and Jonathan built this beautiful headboard from old pallets. The bedspread I found at tjmaxx for a great price and other knick knacks I already had. It still needs some work. Now all we need is some guests! :)

The cat life

Call me what you wish, but I am a couple major life changes away from being a true crazy cat lady. {I would have a house full if I could trade in a husband for them, but that aint happenin'} For years i have repressed the unnatural love i have for these four legged creatures and decided it's time to be real... I am a CAT LOVER and proud of it. :) So if your sick of hearing about how cute and cuddly and fun my kitty is, well... stop kidding yourself. you know you like it!

So on my campaign of convincing the world as to why everyone should own a sweet small companion, this story probably doesn't fit. For a few weeks now, my Small's has been hidden away in a secret hiding spot when she wants to be alone or when people come over. I have found her spot once {behind our clothes in the closet} and she has recently moved on from there. So I have been determined to solve the mystery and find that spot! {Kind of a weird game to me.} So for the past few months now when what seems to always be in the dead middle of the night, she wakes us up to vigurous rabbit kicking on the bottom of our bed. It is super annoying and it has been tearing up the fabric on the bottom of the boxspring. We get on to her and the next time she has a chance, she does it agin. She loves it! So, the other day, I was doing laundry on my bed and felt Small's tap me on the knee. I looked down under the bed to find her nowhere. Then I saw it. The fabric under the boxspring was heavily weighed down by something. Small's was inside my boxspring! She had been strategically making a hole in the fabric so she could manage her little body up in it! Can you believe it! I have a few personal things missing that she likes to play with anyways.. Im thinking she is storing them up for the winter in her little loft.:) One thing is absolutely for sure! There is NEVER a dull moment in our house. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

You can see her white paws and the place in the back where she has made her hole.

Two Year Anniversary

Jonathan and I have been married two whole years and I couldn't be happier!

He bought me the top bracelet off etsy, and I love it! {the bottom one I bought myself}

We were going to go on a picnic, but it rained us out. So we went to Bonsai for some hibachi and it was yummy! He also wrote me a sweet card, but i wont bore you with the mushy details:)

My parents have been sending the cutest cards lately. Full of noises and motion. I look forward to them for sure!

{A little funny}
So, we got home the other night to find 3/4 of a toilet paper roll.. on the floor. Wonder who did that??

He is Risen

Happy Easter!
Such a relaxing day! After two Easter Services, we headed over to the Bailey's for some Sunday eatin'. The Lord has truly blessed us with people who love us and take care of us when our family is far away.

Dressed in our Easter best.

The girls are OBSESSED with the band 'one direction'. We had to sit in silence as they screamed into pillows from excitement during an Icarly episode where the band guest starred. WOW. The boys tried to take their Sunday afternoon naps downstairs. It wasn't too successful.

The hundred plus eggs stuffed for the egg hunt!

Rach made me an Easter happy.

This egg was very obvious!

...and they're off.

Jonathan doing what he does best!

I can not wait for this.. Everyday!

Rez Week

Im thinking I should change the name of my blog to "The Weekenders". Apparently, We only do cool things worth blogging about.... on the weekends. o well.

Thursday night we had a huge Easter 'Eggstravaganza' where a helicopter dropped thousands of eggs from the sky onto a field where children ran frantically and barbaric to scoop up as many as possible. Luckily, we had already left before the chaos began to get to church in time for The Movement.

Amanda and I

Hayes. I just love this big boy!

Friday night we had Secret Church. David Platt brought the Word in a SEVEN hour long bible study about The Cross and Suffering. It was incredible as we learned of and prayed for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

And this was the study guide. 200 plus pages jam packed with so much truth!

Notice the red clock in the background... 11:11

The next morning, as we zombied back to life, we headed out to Lake Mississippi {middle of nowhere}
for a Crawfish Boil. Now I consider myself somewhat of a city girl, but I'll gladly become a 'Kuntry gal' if this is livin'. INCREDIBLE. But four days later and my car STILL smells like crawfish from the coolers we brought it in. yuck!

I had some mixed feelings.

Amanda & Jonathan relaxing

There were about 8 people in this jeep

Such a great way to conclude Rez Week with some College students! We are blessed!

What a Weekend...

What a weekend! First thing friday morning the doorbell wakes us up. and boy was I happy to see these guys! I didn't care what time it was. We have TV now! Before U-verse came into my life we were limited to about 4 channels. {I am such a TV junkie} So I'm not sure yet if this is a good thing or not. Learning to prioritize!

The Prices came over. Jonathan and Seth spent almost the whole day tearing up old pallets to make a headboard for our guest bedroom. I really wish I was better about taking pictures of the process. Amanda, Hayes and I went for walks, and cooked and baked and cleaned for the college band that was going to be coming over later that night. The headboard is incredible. {not totally complete, needing paint and a bedspread etc..} But I love it! Thanks Prices!

The College Band party was held at our house. Taco Night! and what a party it was. It lasted 7 hours! 6:30PM- 1:45AM. yikes. Dominoes, Scattergories, Catch Phrase. I love having people over! So needless to say, we slept in the next day!

Jonathan woke up feelin' motivated. You see, When our house was built, We were jipped about 10 yards in our backyard from where our fence is to where our actual property line is. So thanks to Pinterest, my husband, {yes, he browses at Pinterest} has got some good ideas to make a garden and cute little area, after extending the fence back. It's going to be a long, slow project but I think it will be fun!

Clearing out some weeds.

He gave up around lunch time and took me on a date to see a matinee movie! We just hung out and watched our new TV shows the rest of the night!

Monday after work I was super excited to go home and relax and once again... watch some TV before The National Championships came on. But I didn't get so lucky. We got home just in time for a Huge thunderstorm to roll on through taking our electricity with it.  So our neighbors came over to play some Monopoly in the dark. As you can see.... I dominated! Ashley made some incredibly yummy Pinterest cookie brownies! The power came on just in time for tip off. How convenient.

This week is just going to get crazier! College is having REZ week {short for resurrection Week}
Wednesday: Ultimate Frisbee
Thursday: Egg drop/The Movement
Friday: Secret Church
Saturday: Crawfish Boil
Sunday: Easter

Wheww!
